Preserving the Little Miami

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Scenic Rivers Act, The Little Miami stands out today as an example of the enduring beauty and complexity of our natural world and the continuing need to preserve it. It was indeed the first of the now 209 American rivers designated by the U.S. Congress or the Secretary of the Interior as a National Wild and Scenic River.

Boston trustees create Seasons Road business district

After a brief public hearing, the Boston Township Board of Trustees agreed to create a Seasons Road business district at the Aug. 8 meeting. Trustee Randy Bergdorf thanked planner Mark Majewski for his efforts on the project.

a Year of the Rivera to celebrate Miami River -

More than 50 years ago, Ohio became the first state in the nation to pass Scenic River Protection legislation in February 1968. Several months later, federal legislation passed creating protections for Wild and Scenic Rivers nationwide.
